After an awesome time at Bill &
Terri Harwell's house we all went to Frank & Candie's for our bon-fire
story telling party. Frank did a GREAT job with the fire. Once it got going,
everyone stayed toasty. Several times we had to retreat from the heat. Caitlin
Baker decided to be our marshmallow cooker. She offered marshmallows to
everyone and quite a few people accepted. She made sure that everyone had their
fill. She even made sure there was extra "fiber" in some of the marshmallows!
haha! (that's when she accidentally let the marshmallow drop in the ashes and
Ron got a few bits of wood with his. He ate it anyway- without the wood - and
said it was the best one he'd had) The weather was clear and cool - perfect for
our "bomb" fire! That brings us to Candie's e-mail. She took a lot of good
natured ribbing due to her misspelling of bon fire. But, our fire was "the
bomb" anyway. So, it was the perfect spelling! People shared their funny,
embarrassing and high point stories of themselves, their families, their
horses, their friends, etc. Selma was very appreciative of all the funny
stories. It was a hoot just to listen to her laugh!! The younger kids kept
themselves busy by playing "manhunt" outside. Everyone seemed to enjoy winding
down by the fire after the lively Gift Exchange at the Harwell's. The feeling
around the fire was one of unity, love and peace. We all had such a great time,
I can't wait for next year!!
